Suited for Perfection: Modern Bespoke Suit & Tuxedo Styling Secrets

By Master Tailor Mario · August 5, 2026 · 5 min read

A great suit is an armour of confidence. Whether attending a formal dinner, a wedding, or a gala night, understanding suit proportions ensures you always look sharp and tailored to perfection.

The Shoulder Fit: The shoulder seam must sit cleanly where your natural shoulder meets your arm. If the seam overhangs, the suit will appear bulky; if too tight, restriction limits natural movement.

Jacket Length & Button Stance: A classic jacket should comfortably cover the curvature of your hips. The top button of a two-button suit (or middle button of a three-button suit) should rest at or slightly above your natural navel line.

Trousers Break: Modern tailoring favors a "no-break" or "slight-break" trouser hem, where the bottom cuff gently rests against the top of your dress shoes without pooling fabric around the ankle.

At Mario Collections, our suits are constructed with half-canvas interiors to naturally mold to your physique over time, delivering unmatched comfort and sophistication.
